AI Application in Next Generation Programmable Networks
Artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms can provide an effective solution for dynamic and automated network resource management in Software Defined Networking (SDN). In this contribution, we propose an auto-configuration enabler inside the next-generation Internet of Things (IoT) architecture proposed in the ASSIST-IoT project, for network resource allocation. The AI algorithm is responsible for controlling intent-based routing in an SDN network. This paper focuses on the problem of optimal intent switching between two designated paths using a Deep-Q-Learning approach based on an artificial neural network. The 5th ASSIST-IoT GA meeting and the second face-to-face meeting took place on October 2022, in CIOP-PIB’s premises in Warsaw. The meeting lasted for three days (19th -21st October) and was held in two parallel tracks, focusing the discussion on several technical activities/tasks and on more general aspects such as impact, Open Calls, and pilots’ status. Partners also had the chance to visit a construction site in Lodz and see details about the implementation phase.

The third and final ASSIST-IoT OpenCall webinar took place last Tuesday (04/10). Ignacio Lacalle from Universitat Politècnica de València UPV presented all relevant details and also answered questions from the audience! The Open Call ends at 14th of October!

The latest ASSIST-IoT Newsletter (issue #7) is now available. In this issue you may learn all about ASSIST-IoT project’s activities for the May – July period.

The BIM visualisation functionality relies on the loading of the BIM model in a way that can be visualized through the MR device. The OSH inspector can manipulate the most-updated BIM model at each location, reviewing the overall progress of the building as well as the dangerous zones.

The construction site is a changing and dangerous environment. According to Eurostat data from 2018 in construction sector makes up 20.5% of all fatal and 11,6% of non-fatal accidents in the EU-27. Within the ASSIST-IoT Project, innovation elements will be developed that will improve health and safety. These solutions will be tested on a construction site managed by Mostostal Warszawa SA. If you want to see our pilot, we invite you to watch this video.

ASSIST-IoT partner, Ignacio Lacalle Úbeda (Universitat Politècnica de València UPV) was a jury at the EU-IoT Hackathon during the CONASENSE 2022 which took place between 27th-28th June 2022, Munich, Germany (co-located to the IEEE sponsored CONASENSE2022). ASSIST-IoT was also among the promoting partners of CONASENSE 2022.
