Towards a vibrant EU IoT ecosystem
The EU-IoT white paper entitled “Towards a vibrant EU IoT ecosystem” is now available. It gives information about the way the IoT approach evolved into a paradigm that integrates a broad set of technologies, each of which are in themselves advancing at a rapid pace. Increasingly, IoT technologies and solutions, in combination with Cloud and Edge computing, are leading profound transformation across a variety
of sectors and supply chains. There is also a special mention about ICT 56 RIA projects such as ASSIST-IoT.
The NGIoT community was hard at work in 2021 to build a vibrant and impactful European IoT ecosystem. A range of activities included the first NGIoT Open Calls, a series of events exploring the IoT Edge nexus, IoT thematic workshops and a training series. The EU-IoT Training Workshops Series: Next Generation IoT Architectures will take place on November 9, 2021. Prof. Carlos Palau (Universitat Politècnica de València UPV) , ASSIST-IoT coordinator, will present “The ASSIST-IoT Architecture”.

EU-IoT in collaboration with H2020 ICT-56 IoT projects is organising its second training workshops on IoT and the Tactile Internet titled: “Enabling the Tactile Internet with IoT”. The workshop will present IoT’s potential in enabling tactile internet applications that break time & space boundaries, leveraging on technologies like Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality. ASSIST-IoT partner, Piotr Dymarski (Mostostal) took place on the workshop. He also presented the “Use of Tactile Internet and Augmented Reality in the Construction Industry”.

Are you a developer interested in Mobile Sustainable IoT solutions? The Cooperation and Support Action EU-IoT is organizing an online Hackathon (30 August 2021- EU-IoT Forum, co-located with IoT Week, Dublin) with focus on Mobile Sustainable IoT solutions to encourage developers, students, researchers to discuss, cooperate and develop open-source solutions focused on the EU-IoT scope area : tactile Internet/Human-centric interfaces); Near/Far edge aspects; Infrastructure; Data spaces.
